-"With the wide range of professional programmes offered at HiOA, we should involve business more often", says higher executive officer Henriette Andersen. She organized an Innovation Camp for international students from all over the world at HiOA in collaboration with Microsoft and JA Oslo Tuesday 30th of June.
Innovation Camp is a training event on creativity and innovation. The students are given a task by a business - and limited time to come up with a solution. Prorector Frode Eika Sandnes opened the camp and talked about how and why innovation plays an important role in today’s society. Students from four courses at HiOA International Summer School participated; Universal Design of ICT, Network and System Administration, Learning and Teaching in a Digital World (LATINA) and Beyond Income: Social Dimensions of Poverty and Participatory Methodologies of Investigation. -“Innovation is relevant in all types of studies. The students get experience on how to be innovative in their field of study and how diversity in a group can be a strength", says Andersen. -"Evangelist Arif Shafique from Microsoft is very inspiring. We are really pleased that Microsoft is on board with this project." continues Henriette.
